-> Vậy mạng Carrier là mạng gì? Dịch ra chắc là TRUYỀN TẢI . Nó khác gì mạng Core và có phải nó nằm ở mạng Distribution trong mô hình phân lớp của Cisco không ạ?

Gần đây em xem thông tin, thấy có thuật ngữ Carrier Ethernet-> vậy có phải xu hướng hiện nay là triển khai Ethernet diện rộng ở mức mạng của ISP phải không ạ? cái này ở VN không biết đã triển khai nhiều chưa?

Carrier Ethernet là tên tương mại để đề cập đến vấn đề cung cấp các dịch vụ trên nền ethernet cho khách hàng.
Hiện nay em hay nghe các thuật ngữ:
Ethernet over SDH/SONET
Ethernet over MPLS
Ethernet over Carrier-Ethernet Transport (CET)

Tên dịch vụ của nhà cung cấp như metronet chẳng hạn.

Carrier Networks

Carrier networks are defined as a network, or series of networks, providing connectivity to cities, towns, or other entities on a large scale. Communications service providers utilize these networks to distribute very large amounts of bandwidth over long distances, providing the communication necessary to support premise networks and central office, and all other communications and broadband services offered at the end residential, business, or institutional level. Commonly referred to as the 'backbone', these networks transmit and distribute a large portion of all the communications taking place around the globe.
While some carrier networks are built entirely on fiber optics, certain legacy copper systems still exist. However, with the recent industry push for FTTx, fiber is now being extended further down the network line to support higher bandwidths and additional services.
The large majority of the carrier network infrastructure is built on a bundled, single mode fiber optic system. This type of system allows multiple signals (1 per fiber, multiple fibers per bundle) to travel very long distances at very high transmission rates, ensuring seamless real time communication between points thousands of miles away.
