Hi ,Everybody tôi đang xài VM ware bản 4.3.Tôi đã thử cài một vài HĐH trên máy ảo nói chung là các HĐH Windows cài khá dể dàng.Bạn có thể tinh chỉnh cấu hình của HOST OS (HĐH trên máy ảo) rất dễ dàng hay bạn cũng có thể giả lập nối mạng ào giữa hai máy (cái này hay đó nó thích hợp cho nhửng ai đang cần thực hành mạng mà không nhất thiết phải có hai PC trở lên)>Trên VM ware có 1 tiện ích rất hay đó là Snapshot.Giả sử bạn đang cài HĐH trên máy ảo nhưng bạn lại bận bạn có thể dùng tiện ích Snapshot để chụp lại màn hình hiện tại ,xong rồi bạn có thể Power off rồi close VM ware>Lần sau mở VM ware nếu muốn tiếp tục quá trình cài bạn chỉ cần click vào biểu tượng Revert là quá trình lại tiếp tục ><
Còn về việc cài Linux củng tương tự như Windows thôi (hơi vất vả chút thôi tôi đã phải cài tới 3 lần lận).Sau dây là phần hướng dần về cài LINUX RED HAT 9.0 trên VM ware(nÓ bằng tiếng Anh nên các bạn chịu khó vậy)

General Installation Notes

The easiest method of installing Red Hat Linux 9.0 in a virtual machine is to use the standard Red Hat distribution CD. The notes below describe an installation using the standard distribution CD; however, installing Red Hat Linux 9.0 via the boot floppy/network method is supported as well.

Before installing the operating system, be sure that you have already created and configured a new virtual machine.

Note: You should not run the X server that is installed when you set up Red Hat Linux 9.0. Instead, to get an accelerated SVGA X server running inside the virtual machine, you should install the VMware Tools package immediately after installing Red Hat Linux 9.0.


Installation Steps

Insert the Red Hat Linux 9.0 CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive and power on the virtual machine.
You need to install Red Hat Linux 9.0 using the text mode installer, which you may choose when you first boot the installer. At the Red Hat Linux 9.0 CD boot prompt, you are offered the following choices:

To install or upgrade Red Hat Linux ... in graphical mode ...
To install or upgrade ... in text mode, type: linux text <ENTER>.
Use the function keys listed below ...

To choose the text mode installer, type linux text and press Enter.

Note: If you attempt to use the graphical installer, it fails and launches the text mode installer.

Follow the installation steps as you would for a physical machine. Be sure to make the choices outlined in the following steps.
Choose the language and keyboard, then in the Installation Type screen, choose either Server or Workstation for the installation type.
In the Mouse Selection screen, choose Generic - 3 Button Mouse (PS/2) and select the Emulate 3 Buttons option for three-button mouse support in the virtual machine. If you have a wheel mouse, you may choose Generic Wheel Mouse (PS/2).
You may see a warning that says:
Bad partition table. The partition table on device sda is corrupted. To create new partitions, it must be initialized, causing the loss of ALL DATA on the drive.
This does not mean that anything is wrong with the hard drive on your physical computer. It simply means that the virtual hard drive in your virtual machine needs to be partitioned and formatted. Select the Initialize button and press Enter. Also note that sda appears in the message as the device name if the virtual disk in question is a SCSI disk; if the virtual disk is an IDE drive, hda appears in the message as the device name instead.
Allow automatic partitioning of the disk to occur in the Automatic Partitioning screen or partition the virtual disk manually if you do not want to use the Red Hat defaults.
If your computer is connected to a LAN that provides DHCP support, then in the Network Configuration screen, you may select the option Use bootp/dhcp. If you prefer, you may also set the networking parameters manually.
In the Video Card Configuration screen, choose Skip X Configuration.
This completes basic installation of the Red Hat Linux 9.0 guest operating system

Các bác cho em hỏi, khi em ca`i Red Hat Linux trên Win2000, sử dụng VMWare 4.2, cài được rồi, chạy ngon lành lắm, nhưng phần nối mạng không hiểu sao không thực hiện được mặc dù đã ping được ra ngoài mạng rất tốt.
Cấu hình của VMWare, NIC để ở chế độ Bridge, tức là sử dụng luôn NIC vật lý của máy, còn khi sử dụng NAT, thi cũng bị hiện tượng như vậy.
Bác nào có ý kiến, giải đáp cho em với !

Bạn có thể chỉ cho mình link để download VMWare bản 4. và crack không, hoặc bạn upload lên ftp server của vnpro để share cho mọi người thì càng tốt. Mình hiện đang sử dụng bản 3.2, nhưng không tìm được chỗ để down version mới hơn.

cho em hỏi về VMWare, vì em mới tìm hiểu Linux thôi nên hơi bối rối, khi cài Linux trên VMWare thì mình có phải chia lại partition trên máy ảo không, và cách VMWare chia ổ cứng thực sự cho mỗi máy ảo ra sao? Mong mọi người chỉ bảo giúp em!!

Vì cái ổ cứng trên cái máy ảo là ổ cứng mới cho nên dĩ nhiên phải format và tạo partition cho nó rồi.

Máy tính của tôi có phần cứng không tương thích với Solaris, nhưng tôi muốn cài Sol cho nên tôi bèn sử dụng VMW, thế nhưng VMW cũng xài driver mặc định khi cài Sol cho nên vẫn không cài được, có bạn nào biết giải pháp nào không? tôi nghe nói VMW cho setup driver ảo, nhưng không lẻ chỉ cho card mạng ảo thôi sao? còn card màn hình, card sound, và modem nữa thì sao? ai biết chỉ dùm nhé, cám ơn rất nhiều
